Product Description

You always have to ensure that the storage temperature does not exceed specific limit values when storing drugs and food. With the testo 174T mini data logger for temperature you can carry out continuous temperature control, no matter whether you store your goods on the shelf, in the counter display or in the refrigerator/cold store. This means you can check at any time whether you are adhering to the specified temperature ranges. Because the data logger reliably records the readings and can therefore be used for uninterrupted measurement data recording and documentation.

This is what the testo 174T mini data logger for temperature offers

The testo 174T mini data logger for temperature has a memory capacity of up to 16 000 readings. Saved measurement data will not be lost even when the battery is empty or being replaced. You can easily see the current reading shown on the large display, along with any possible violations of limit values. The temperature sensor which is integrated into the data logger is an NTC sensor with a high level of accuracy. The temperature data logger’s measuring range goes from -30 to +70 °C. It is therefore fine to use at very low temperatures as well and is for instance suitable for temperature control in refrigerators or cold stores.

Particularly practical for applications involving food (e.g. storage temperature measurement): the testo 174T mini data logger for temperature is certified to EN 12830, is HACCP-compliant and has international HACCP certification. It also has water spray and jet protection according to protection class IP 65. This enables the data logger for temperature to be left in the measuring location even when warehouses are being cleaned.

Programming and analysis with the mini data logger for temperature

You can programme and read your data logger for temperature using software, as well as analyzing measurement data on the PC. Testo offers three different software versions to do this:
  • ComSoft Basic software – free download possible – for fast programming of the temperature data logger and easy data analysis
  • ComSoft Professional software – also available as an option – offers a variety of possibilities for detailed analysis of readings
  • ComSoft CFR 21 Part 11 software – also available as an option – the best solution for special requirements according to CFR 21 Part 11 in the pharmaceutical sector

Advantage of the set: the data logger is ready to use straight away

You need a USB interface to programme and read your testo 174T mini data logger for temperature. The USB interface is already included in the scope of delivery when you purchase this set. This means you can start your temperature recording straight away!

Attention: Please download the newest software version before using the USB interface for the first time. The software can be found in the
download area.

Applications

Monitoring and documentation of the temperature in cold rooms

Many foods and drugs have to be stored within a specific cold temperature range. This can be done in individual cooled store rooms, but also in specialised cold stores or cold warehouses with high-rack facilities. The temperature must be continuously documented in all these cold storage facilities, because strict rules apply to quality management in both the food and drugs industries.

Data loggers are usually installed at the so-called critical control points (CCPs) of the cold room, in order to identify any possible temperature deviations and to introduce appropriate countermeasures. Critical points are for instance doors or passages through to other temperature areas within a warehouse.

Temperature monitoring in deep-freeze rooms for foods

There are a huge number of facilities where (deep-)frozen food has to be stored. These range from individual deep-freeze rooms on small food producers' sites (e.g. butchers), at restaurants and supermarkets, via deep-freeze rooms in the food industry, through to specialised cold stores / deep-freeze warehouses with high-rack facilities. The temperature must be continuously documented in all these facilities. In Europe, only temperature loggers may be used in this process which are approved according to EN 12830.

Typically, data loggers are used to measure the air temperature in storage facilities of this kind. The measuring instrument is installed in the deep-freeze room – as far as possible at critical points such as doors or cooling plants – and records the temperature data at defined intervals (typically: 15 minutes). The recorded data can then be analysed and archived using special software.

Monitoring and documentation of transport temperature

For all goods which react sensitively to temperature fluctuations or have to be stored within a predefined temperature range, uninterrupted measurement data recording and documentation play a major role.
Incorrect temperature conditions during transport can lead to major losses of quality, including the total loss of value of the products that require monitoring.

Using a data logger, shipments can be checked for compliance with the specified temperature ranges and the data can then be read, analysed and archived by means of special software.
